Section J Reports

AIS certifiers are capable of carrying out Section J reports for your commercial projects. We will undertake the lighting and glazing calculations for you and provide you with a report that will be suitable for lodgement with council or your PCA.

Section J of the BCA aims to reduce the energy use and green-house gas emissions of Class 3-9 Buildings. All new Class 2-9 Buildings must comply with the BCA. A good Section J analysis and report may save you thousands on construction and materials by promoting thermally efficient solar passive design.  Many Councils will require a Section J report to be submitted with a DA for commercial buildings.

Section J requires analysis and detail on;

• Building fabric & insulation
• Glazing
• Lighting
• Ventilation
• Building sealing

A Section J Report includes findings-what part of the BCA applies to your project a, recommendations-changes required where your proposal may not comply, or may comply more efficiently and Specifications – glazing lighting and insulation requirements.
